'Hunger Games' contests: Win pair of tickets to movie's LA premiere

Lionsgate loves to play the numbers game when it comes to its upcoming "Hunger Games" movie. With 50 days until the movie's release, the studio announced a partnership with 50 websites, each of which will give away two tickets to the movie's Los Angeles premiere, on March 12 at the Nokia Theatre. Each website is running its own contest to give away the tickets. The overall promotion is detailed on Twitter using the hashtag #HungerGames50. Movies Lionsgate teams up with IMAX For one week, Lionsgate will release "Hunger Games" in the IMAX format. The movie will run in this format from March 23 to March 30. "The Hunger Games and IMAX are a match made in heaven," said Lionsgate Co-Chief Operating Officer Joe Drake. "Fans love this book because its world is so vividly imagined and seeing the film in IMAX will make them feel as if they have landed right in the middle of the action." Trilogy tops bestsellers "The Hunger Games" trilogy finished in the top three spots for Amazon in January. "The Hunger Games," "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay" went 1-2-3 in sales of physical books.
