Police say they attempted to stop the car for a random breath test at Waterloo just after midnight. The car initially did not stop and a sports bag was allegedly thrown from a window before it was stopped by officers nearby. The bag contained a fully loaded SKS semi-automatic rifle, along with a samurai sword and other items. Police say three people were inside the car. A 43-year-old man was taken to Sydney Hospital for treatment of a hand injury. He was then charged with nine offences, including possessing an unregistered firearm, possessing drugs and common assault. A 42-year-old woman was charged with goods in custody and not obeying a police direction. A 46-year-old man was released pending further investigations.
